Recently, I installed a new D-Link wireless router model DIR-655. After initial configuration, I got the following message when connecting my notebook to the wireless router.
The message says “Validating Identity” and after a while the connection drop.
To fix the problem, follow the steps below.
- Right click on the Wireless Network Connection icon and select Properties
- Select Wireless Networks tab
- Select the approriate wireless network and click Properties
- On the new pop up window, select Authentication tab
- Uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network
You should be able to connect now. Good Luck!
